Whether she’s loading her camera or shuffling cards, Jetzi is focused on preserving and healing the community around her. Growing up on the West Side of Chicago provided her a unique vantage point to launch an eclectic career that combines artwork, spirituality and politics.
She’s been shooting film for over fifteen years, capturing musicians like Chromeo and M.I.A alongside social media superstars like Elise Swopes and Elizabeth de la Piedra. She attended Parsons School Of Design & DePaul University where she studied Photography & Political Science. She has extensive production and assisting experience, working with New York club night GHE20G0TH1K, fashion label Hood By Air and other talented creators.
Her identity as an Afrolatinx woman informs her spiritual and organizational work. Over the years, she’s held dozens of community workshops on topics like photography, tarot, spiritual protection, liberation and mental health. Recently, she has been working to provide resources for organizer safety groups, jail support and the fight to free her Cousin Damien "Toppnotch" Hodges from prison. She founded The Pen Pal Initiative to connect the community to our incarcerated family.
Using colorful flowers and herbs from her very own garden, she creates anointing oils, fixed candles, and thoughtfully-packaged kits available in her shop alongside tarot readings, spiritual consultations and chart analysis. Contact her for photoshoots, small event bookings, wholesale orders, panels and workshops.
